Last week saw a slew of wine events come through the Bay Area. The Cobb Wines tasting at Jardiniere particularly stood out for the quality of the wine, and the intimacy of the setting. Ross Cobb is making some stunning Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast, and attendees had ample opportunity to talk with Ross and his father David (who planted their Coastlands Vineyard back in 1989). If you ever have a chance to try these low production wines, don’t pass it up! [HINT: you’ll have more opportunities to taste Ross’ handiwork, now that he’s the winemaker at Hirsch Vineyards.]
More good things to look forward to this week. I’m planning to continue my old world wine studies at Arlequin on Thursday for their Burgundy tasting, and hope to see some of you there!
Last minute addition: my favorite Pac Heights Indian restaurant, DOSA, is throwing a wine pairing dinner, interspersed with three independent short films this Tuesday night. Only a few seats left. Tickets are $60, and can be purchased here.
