All – we’ve had to push this back one week. The new date for this event is Tuesday, May 10.
Admit it: you like the funk. You like finding off-beat, esoteric wines that none of your friends have ever heard of. The juice in your glass that makes you say, “I didn’t know wine could taste like that.” The stuff that makes you appreciate that — no matter how much you think you know — wine is an ongoing discovery process.
If this is striking a chord, than I hope you’ll join us at The Punchdown on Tuesday May 3 10 for a tasting of wines from the current Indie Pop region of France — Jura. Starting at 7:30pm, The Punchdown will be pouring a special selection of wines from Jura — a French AOC which has become quite popular in wine geeky circles. Just last week, Eric Asimov of the New York Times wrote a blog post regarding recent Jura tasting events in New York.
The wines for May 3 will be selected by the owners of The Punchdown. Back in February, they guided a group of us through 8 French wines from different AOC’s, and we were impressed by the diversity of wines that were poured. We’ve decided to bring the band back together for another round of Tuesday Tastings, and decided to open up the event to other SF Wine Blog readers. I hope you’ll join us!
The cost is $20, and in order to keep a headcount, we ask that you RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. Feel free to pass this invitation along to others you think may be interested.
Because we are getting some special wines not normally found on The Punchdown’s list, we are limiting the headcount, and kindly ask that you RSVP so we can make sure there is plenty of wine for everyone.
