Wine Events: Week of July 26

Must. Find. More. Time. To. Drink. More. Wine.

All month:  Summer of Riesling @RN74 (SoMa)
301 Mission Street
San Francisco, CA

6:00pm – 10:00pm – pay as you go

You may have missed on last week’s kick-off event, but there’s plenty more Riesling to quench your thirst at rn74 til the end of August.  Lots of options, $6 a glass.

Wed. July 28:  Gary Pisoni & Gary Franscioni @FPWM (FiDi)

Ferry Plaza Wine Merchants
Ferry Building
San Francisco, CA

4:30pm – 7:30pm – $32

We’re pretty spoiled to have Anderson Valley, Sonoma Coast, and Russian River pinot country so nearby.  But if you have been looking for an opportunity to taste some of the best that our Southern neighbors have to offer, then you have to come to this event.  Gary Pisoni and Gary Franscioni offer some of the best wines from the Santa Lucia highlands.  Plus these guys are just ridiculously personable.  Check out this video interview if you need any more incentive to meet these characters (go to 3:38 for a real laugh).

Thurs., July 29:  Pyramid Valley Vineyards @ Arlequin Wine Merchants (Hayes Valley)
Arlequin Wine Merchants
284 Hayes Street
San Francisco, CA

Time: 6pm – 8pm – $15

I know nothing about this winery except (a) they focus on natural wines; (b) they hail from New Zealand; and (c) their website is pretty cool.  That’s reason enough for me to check out their pinot noir and pinot blanc. More info on their winemaking philosophy here.
