Broc Cellars

Sunday, Dec. 13:  Broc Cellars / Naked Lunch Holiday Tasting (Berkeley)
1pm – 5pm
805 Camelia Street
Berkeley, CA

$15 per person

Take up-and-coming local winemaker, add tasty vittles plus a dash of holiday merriment, and you end up with a great event.  Broc Cellars focuses small lots of rhone varietals (including Grenache, Syrah Mouvedre), and is led by the pride of Omaha, Nebraska, winemaker Chris Brockway.  These are great food-friendly wines, and the folks from Naked Lunch (the best darn lil’ lunch stop on Broadway) are more than up to the task of pairing yummy food with Chris’ wines.

Thurs., Dec. 17 – 18 Reasons Bubble Bash (SF, Mission)
7pm – 9pm
593 Guerrero (at 18th Street)
San Francisco, CA

$15 members / $20 non-members [NOTE – limited to first 50 folks who show up]

If you haven’t noticed, I’m a big fan of 18 Reasons and BiRite’s efforts to promote a local community attitude centered around  food and wine.  And I’m glad that they’re starting to get some national attention.  (See NYT story here).  So stop by and join some of your neighbors at their bubble bash — six different champagnes, including a few from one of my favorite producers, Champagne Billecart Salmon.
